Greeley's Annual Centennial Potato Days 2019
/Greeley, Colorado used to be quite the potato producing hub. Only 18 years ago, there were approximately 64 potato growers in Northern Colorado, and now we are the only ones left in our area. Luckily, Weld County has still continued to celebrate Potato Days at Centennial Village to not only introduce the next generation to our past but also to the world of agriculture. Participants are able to explore Centennial Village, eat a homemade tortilla in an adobe kitchen, pet farm animals, listen to live music, play potato games, watch and eat slow-churned ice cream, and of course, eat a baked potato for lunch. We continue to donate fresh russet potatoes for this event that are grown just 10 miles from Centennial Village. Approximately 1,500 baked potatoes were served this year making Greeley Potato Days a starchy success!
